January 4/2014

Today was another stable day for George. The plan is to try to reduce his sedation level slowly starting tomorrow. That is providing the night will be uneventful. The nurse told us today that he has been on the ventilator longer than most patients because he was "special". I must admit that makes many thoughts go through my mind. My sister told me that I needed to let go and let God. So true. They said that his lungs were looking a little better.  They managed to keep his fever down to a near normal throughout the day with Tylenol. They were also giving him something to get rid of all of the extra fluids in his body. I think  we forgot to mention in our blog that the diagnosis was confirmed as H1N1 on Wednesday.  They were treating him for that right from the beginning so did not change treatment plan at all.  This medication can only be given for 10 days so that is done. I asked the nurse yesterday what the next plan was and the response was we need to give it time.

Phillipians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing .but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
